This extra fine piece of raw rutilated quartz lapidary rough is absolutely colorless and 100% natural! Over 90% of its interior is flawless rock crystal quartz with long curving silver rutile "needles" passing thru it! This piece was discovered in an ancient stream bed and has a stream-rolled surface with natural reddish brown iron oxide surface color and only a few fresh breaks. Because of its stream-rolled surface, its exceptional transparency and the long curving rutile needles within it are not easily visible except wherre there is a fresh break as shown at left. This rare quality piece of natural rutilated quartz rough has superb transparency and the quartz crystal is completely colorless - it is very high quality lapidary grade rough. Over 90% of the interior of this rock crystal quartz specimen is internally flawless quartz with long curving rutile "needles" passing thru it! This natural rutilated quartz specimen was discovered in an ancient stream bed, and it has a stream-rolled surface with natural reddish-brown surface color and about half of its surfaces show fresh breaks that make wonderful windows into its interior. Because of its stream-rolled surface, its long curving rutile needles and superb internal transparency are not easily visible except where it has a fresh break. It was mined in an ancient river bed, and it is covered on the back with stream-rolled surfaces. The front surface is a fresh break which is like a window into this rare quality rutilated quartz specimen. We left all surfaces in their natural state. Most of the quartz is flawless, with some lightly included areas and some tiny tan-pink chlorite clay mineral inclusions along with the rutiles.
