These unusual mineral spheres were hand-ground and polished with a superior quality finish from natural andalusite (variety: chiastolite) crystals that were mined in the Henan Province, China. These superior quality andalusite spheres have a pinkish-brown color with black carbonaceous inclusions that form cross-like or cruciform patterns within the andalusite. Andalusite with these cruciform patterns is known as chiastolite.
