Topaz is an aluminum silicate which usually forms from fluorine bearing vapors present during the final stages of crystalization in some igneous rocks. Topaz is frequently found in vugs (open cavities) in rhyolitic lavas, and also in some granitic pegmatites where it commonly occurs with quartz, feldspar and mica. Natural topaz is usually colorless, however it can occur naturally with many different colors including yellow, orange, pink and blue. The rarest of the naturally occuring colors in topaz are in shades of orange-pink which are commonly known as Imperial Topaz. Imperial Topaz is found today at just a few locations around the world, the most famous of which is at Ouro Preto, Brazil. We specialize in unheated and untreated real topaz that was mined in the earth with 100% natural color! Right now, we are offering natural color raw topaz in all qualities including some rare large topaz crystals!
