This naturally terminated crystal is transparent with three distinct natural color zones inside; it is medium-dark blue at the naturally terminated tip then medium-dark yellow-green in the middle, and then becomes medium-dark pure green at the base. Away from the light source this dark tourmaline crystal appears almost black, but when held to a light the beautiful colors are visible as shown. The terminations are in good overall condition with some naturally abraded areas. There are some faint inclusions along one side, and there is a large facet grade area inside as well. This natural color tourmaline crystal will yield a single lightly included tri-color faceted gem weighing over 20 carats, or it could be faceted into a single VS clarity faceted gem from the beautiful medium-dark blue area (indicolite tourmaline) weighing over 7 carats! This rare quality tourmaline is almost completely flawless throughout its length with just a few very faint natural inclusions. It appears to be almost black, but when held to a light as shown the beautiful color is easily visible. This natural tourmaline crystal could be set into jewelry just as it is or it could also be faceted into a few carats of small flawless gems.
