Our Vivianite Mineral Specimens and Crystals Are 100% Natural - They Have Not Been Heated or Treated In Any Way!
We specialize in Large Vivianite in Matrix Decorator Mineral Specimens!
Vivianite is a relatively rare hydrated iron phosphate that forms in the oxidation zone of some metallic ore deposits, and as a secondary mineral in pegmatites after some iron-manganesian phosphates. The vivianite is typcally colorless when formed. It is a very delicate mineral that has a tendency to decrepitate over time. Exposure to light causes the iron in vivianite to oxidize resulting in deepening blue and green colors with continued exposure to light, eventually becoming opaque.
